1604                                          LAWS OF MARYLAND                        [Ch. 394

General Assembly of 1971, is suspended for a period of
three years following the effective date of this Act. At
the end of this three year period, the payment of
principal and interest shall be resumed under a revised
schedule of payments, prepared by the Comptroller and
approved by the Board of Public Works. The revised
schedule shall provide for the repayment in full of any
and all loans made pursuant to Chapter 138 of the Regular
Session of the General Assembly of 1964 and Chapter 32 of
the Acts of 1971 within the period as specified for
repayment in the loan agreements as originally executed
to provide for said loans.

[[SECTION 3. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That the
Board of Public Works is hereby authorized and empowered
to pass a Resolution cancelling all debts owed by
Provident Hospital, Inc., to the State of Maryland as a
result of any and all funds received by said Provident
Hospital pursuant to the Promissory Note in an amount of
Two Hundred Thousand Dollars ($200,000) executed by said
Provident Hospital to the State of Maryland on January
14, 1972.]]

SECTION 3. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That upon the
recommendation by the Governor or officers of the
Treasury Department as provided by Section 33 of Article
III of the Constitution of Maryland, the Board of Public
works is hereby authorized, directed and empowered to
pars a Resolution cancelling the total debt owed by
Provident Hospital, Inc. to the State of Maryland on the
effective date of such resolution as a result of any and
all funds received by said Provident Hospital pursuant to
the Promissory Note in an amount of Two Hundred Thousand
Dollars ($200,000) executed by said Provident Hospital,
Inc. to the State of Maryland on January 14, 1972.

SECTION 4. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That if any
portion (word, sentence, paragraph, proviso or section)
of this Act shall be held invalid for any reason, the
remaining provisions shall remain in full force and
effect, and such invalid portion shall be considered
severed and deleted from this Act,

SECTION [[4]] 5. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That
this Act shall take effect June 1, 1974.
