"PERSON" INCLUDES ANY COUNTY, MUNICIPAL CORPORATION,
OR OTHER POLITICAL SUBDIVISION OF THE STATE, OR ANY OF
THEIR UNITS, OR ANY INDIVIDUAL, RECEIVER, TRUSTEE,
GUARDIAN, EXECUTOR, ADMINISTRATOR, FIDUCIARY, OR
REPRESENTATIVE OF ANY KIND, OR ANY PARTNERSHIP, FIRM,
ASSOCIATION, PUBLIC OR PRIVATE CORPORATION, OR ANY OTHER
ENTITY.

1-118.

"PERSONS IN MILITARY SERVICE" SHALL INCLUDE THE
FOLLOWING PERSONS AND NO OTHERS: ALL MEMBERS OF THE ARMY
OF* THE UNITED STATES, THE UNITED STATES NAVY, THE MARINE
CORPS, THE COAST GUARD, AND ALL OFFICERS OF THE PUBLIC
HEALTH SERVICE DETAILED BY PROPER AUTHORITY FOR DUTY
EITHER WITH THE ARMY OR THE NAVY. THE TERM "MILITARY
SERVICE" MEANS IN FEDERAL SERVICE ON ACTIVE DUTY WITH ANY
BRANCH OF SERVICE HERETOFORE REFERRED TO OR MENTIONED AS
WELL AS TRAINING OR EDUCATION UNDER THE SUPERVISION OF
THE UNITED STATES PRELIMINARY TO INDUCTION INTO THE
MILITARY SERVICE. THE TERMS "ACTIVE SERVICE" OR "ACTIVE
DUTY" INCLUDES THE PERIOD DURING WHICH A PERSON IN
MILITARY SERVICE IS ABSENT FROM DUTY ON ACCOUNT OF
SICKNESS, WOUNDS, LEAVE, OR OTHER LAWFUL CAUSE.

1-119.

"POLITICAL SUBDIVISION" MEANS ANY COUNTY IN THIS
STATE AND THE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL OF BALTIMORE CITY
AND ANY MUNICIPALITY AS DEFINED IN SECTION 1-113.

1-120.

"SECRETARY" MEANS THE SECRETARY OF TRANSPORTATION OF
MARYLAND WHOSE OFFICE IS CREATED PURSUANT TO ARTICLE 41
OF THIS CODE.

1-121.

"STATE AIRWAY" MEANS A ROUTE IN THE NAVIGABLE
AIRSPACE OVER AND ABOVE THE LANDS OR WATERS OF THIS
STATE, DESIGNATED BY THE ADMINISTRATION AS A ROUTE
SUITABLE FOR AIR NAVIGATION.

"STRUCTURE MEANS ANY OBJECT OR THING, CONSTRUCTED,
ERECTED, PLACED OR INSTALLED ABOVE THE SURFACE OF THE
GROUND, INCLUDING, BUT WITHOUT LIMITATION, BUILDINGS,
FENCES, DERRICKS, HAY STACKS, POLES, WIRES, TOWERS AND
SMOKESTACKS;
