WORCESTER counties from giving away any prize or prizes
by the act of drawing of a name or names if no purchase
or [[contest]] CONSIDERATION is required to qualify for
the prize or prizes.

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act
shall take effect July 1, 1974.

FOR the purpose of providing a procedure for the custody
and disposal of personal property abandoned by
inmates of the State correctional facilities.

Section 678A

Annotated Code of Maryland

(1971 Replacement Volume and 1973 Supplement)

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That new Section 678A be and it is hereby added
to Article 27 — Crimes and Punishments, of the Annotated
Code of Maryland (1971 Replacement Volume and 1973
Supplement) to read as follows:

Article 27 — Crimes and Punishments
678A.

(A) ANY PERSONAL PROPERTY OF AN INMATE, WHICH
COMES INTO POSSESSION OF THE DIVISION OF CORRECTION AS
THE RESULT OF AN ESCAPE BY AN INMATE FROM ANY OF THE
SEVERAL INSTITUTIONS OR BECAUSE IT HAS BEEN UNCLAIMED BY
AN INMATE WHO HAS RIGHT TO ITS POSSESSION, SHALL BE HELD
BY THE DIVISION OF CORRECTION FOR A PERIOD OF 30 DAYS,
DURING WHICH TIME NOTICE SHALL BE POSTED IN A CONSPICUOUS
