SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That Sections 34(b) and 34 (c) of Article 78 -
Public Service Commission Law, of the Annotated Code of
Maryland (1969 Replacement Volume and 1973 Supplement) be
and they are hereby repealed:

[ (b) Permits under this subtitle may be authorized
for a period of twenty-five years to any applicant
directly furnishing, or a subsidiary of a company
directly furnishing, mass transportation in any
incorporated municipality by electric trolley cars, where
the applicant intends to operate motor vehicles (other
than taxicabs) as an integrated supplement to trolley
service.

(c) Where motor vehicles are to be used in
substitution for the whole or any part of electric
trolley service under a franchise, easement or
right—of—way which is longer than twenty—five years, the
Commission may authorize a permit, if the owner of the
franchise or other right is willing to surrender it, to
last for the duration of the franchise or other right.]

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That Section
34(d) of Article 78 — Public Service Commission Law, of
the Annotated Code of Maryland (1969 Replacement Volume
and 1973 Supplement) be and it is hereby repealed and
re—enacted, with amendments, to read as follows:
