(4)     Any person who is injured or killed while
trying to prevent a crime or an attempted crime from
occurring in his presence or trying to apprehend a person
who had committed a crime in his presence or had, in
fact, committed a felony.

(5)   A surviving spouse or child of any person who
dies as a direct result of trying to prevent a crime or
an attempted crime from occurring in his presence or
trying to apprehend a person who had committed a crime in
his presence or had, in fact, committed a felony.

(6)     Any person dependent for his principal support
upon any person who dies as a direct result of trying to
prevent a crime or an attempted crime from occurring in
his presence or trying to apprehend a person who had
committed a crime in his presence or had, in fact,
committed a felony.

(7)   ANY PERSON WHO IS INJURED OR KILLED WHILE
GIVING AID AND ASSISTANCE TO A LAW ENFORCEMENT OFFICER IN
THE PERFORMANCE OF HIS LAWFUL DUTIES OR TO A MEMBER OF A
FIRE DEPARTMENT WHO IS BEING OBSTRUCTED FROM PERFORMING
HIS LAWFUL DUTIES.

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act
shall take effect July 1, 1974.

AN ACT concerning

Allegany, Calvert, Charles, Frederick, Garrett, and
St. Mary's Counties — Aid to Volunteer Fire Departments

FOR the purpose of authorizing the Allegany, Calvert,
Charles, Frederick, Garrett, and St. Mary's County
Commissioners to guarantee or insure financial loans
made to volunteer fire departments.
