AN ACT concerning

Financial Disclosure—News Media Employees

FOR the purpose of requiring certain employees of and other persons
connected with certain newspapers, magazines, periodicals, and radio
and television stations in Maryland to file periodically with the Secre-
tary of State financial disclosure statements listing in detail all
liabilities and assets in or with respect to which the person filing the
statement, his or her spouse or dependent children, has a legal or
equitable interest; requiring the Secretary of State to maintain
these statements; making these statements public record subject to
public inspection; providing certain responsibilities and duties for the
Secretary of State with respect to these financial disclosure state-
ments; providing for penalties for violations of the provisions of this
Act; and relating generally to financial disclosure reporting require-
ments for certain employees of and other persons connected with
certain newspapers, magazines, periodicals, and radio and television
stations in Maryland.
