AN ACT concerning

Interest and Usury

FOR the purpose of increasing the legal rate of interest which may be
charged in Maryland on certain loans secured by a mortgage or deed
of trust on residential real property, stating certain conditions there-
for, and generally relating to interest and usury.

Interest and Usury—Legal Rate of Interest

FOR the purpose of suspending the limitations on the legal rate of inter-
est from and after the effective date of this Act until July 1, 1974
and prohibiting the imposition of prepayment charges or penalties
with respect to certain loan contracts.
