HAULAGE ROADS OR CONVEYORS.

REVISOR'S NOTE: This subsection presently appears
as Article 66C, section 558(e) of the Code.
The only changes made are in style.

(F)     CROSS-OVER BRIDGES.--___SUITABLE CROSS-OVER

BRIDGES SHALL BE PROVIDED WHERE NECESSARY FOR ANY
PERSON TO CROSS CONVEYORS REGULARLY AND WHERE THE
WIDTH OF CONVEYORS OR LOW ROOF INTRODUCES A HAZARD.

as Article 66C, section 558(f) of the Code,
as amended by Chapter 679, S.B. 390, Acts
of 1973. The only changes made are in
style.

(G)    SHELTER HOLES; PLACEMENT ON HAULAGE
ENTRANCE; DEPTH.—-

(1)    SHELTER HOLES SHALL BE PROVIDED ALONG
HAULAGE ENTRIES DRIVEN WHERE LOCOMOTIVE, ROPE, OR
SHUTTLE CAR HAULAGE IS USED. THEY SHALL BE SPACED NOT
MORE THAN 80 FEET APART. EXCEPT WHERE THE TROLLEY
WIRE IS SIX AND ONE-HALF FEET OR MOPE ABOVE THE RAIL,"
OR GUARDED EFFECTIVELY AT THE SHELTER HOLES, THE HOLES
SHALL BE ON THE SIDE OF THE ENTRY OPPOSITE THE TROLLEY
WIRES.

REVISOR'S NOTE: The first paragraph presently
appears as Article 66C, section 558 (g) of
the Code. The reference to animals is
proposed for deletion because they are no
longer used in the mines. The only other
changes made are in style.

(2)   SHELTER HOLES SHALL BE AT LEAST FIVE
FEET IN DEPTH, NOT MORE THAN FOUR FEET IN WIDTH, AND
SIX FEET IN HEIGHT OR AS HIGH AS THE TRAVELING SPACE,
IF THE TRAVELLING SPACE IS LESS THAN SIX FEET HIGH.
ROOM NECKS AND CROSSCUTS MAY BE USED AS SHELTER HOLES
EVEN THOUGH THEIR WIDTH EXCEEDS FOUR FEET.

(3)   SHELTER HOLES SHALL BE KEPT CLEAR OF
REFUSE AND OTHER OBSTRUCTION. THEY SHALL BE PROVIDED
AT SWITCH THROWS, EXCEPT WHERE MORE THAN SIX FEET OF
