DISTRICT MINE INSPECTOR A GOOD BLUEPRINT OR OTHER
EXACT COPY OF THE ORIGINAL MAP FOR HIS OFFICIAL USE.
EVERY SIX MONTHS THE OPERATOR SHALL FURNISH AN
ADDITIONAL COPY SHOWING ANY EXTENSIONS. THE BLUEPRINT
OR OTHER COPY SHALL REMAIN IN THE BUREAU'S CUSTODY AND
MAY NOT BE MADE PUBLIC WITHOUT THE OPERATOR'S CONSENT.

(F) WHEN WORK ON MINE ENDS; ENDORSEMENT AND
SIGNING MAP.—IF A MINE IS WORKED OUT OR ABANDONED,
WITHIN 60 DAYS, THE OPERATOR SHALL EXTEND THE MAP OF
THE MINE TO SHOW CLEARLY ALL WORKED OUT OR ABANDONED
TERRITORY. HE SHALL FURNISH THE DISTRICT MINE
INSPECTOR WITH A GOOD COPY OF THE MAP, AND A COPY
SHALL BE SENT TO THE BUREAU TO BE KEPT AS A PUBLIC
DOCUMENT. THE ORIGINAL MAP AND EVERY COPY SHALL
CONTAIN A CERTIFICATE SIGNED BY THE MINING ENGINEER OR
SURVEYOR WHO PREPARED IT. THE CERTIFICATE SHALL
PROVIDE THAT THE MAP AND COPY ARE EXACT DUPLICATES AND
ACCURATELY SHOW THE LINES PORTRAYED. THE DISTRICT
MINE INSPECTOR SHALL REVIEW THE COPY TO INSURE THAT IT
INCLUDES A SIGNED STATEMENT OF THE MINE FOREMAN
STATING THAT HE HAS CAREFULLY EXAMINED THE MAP AND
COPY AND THAT IT IS AN ACCURATE COPY OF THE ORIGINAL
MAP AND REPRESENTS THE MINE PROPERTY ACCORDING TO HIS
PERSONAL KNOWLEDGE.

(G) WORKINGS APPROACHING DANGEROUS WATER OR
GASES.—IF THE DISTRICT MINE INSPECTOR SUSPECTS THAT
ANY MINE WORKING APPROACHES DANGEROUS ACCUMULATIONS OF
WATER OR GAS, HE MAY REQUIRE BY SPECIAL SAFETY ORDER
THAT THE OPERATOR CAUSE THE SUSPECTED PORTION OF THE
HIKE TO BE SURVEYED IMMEDIATELY AND ENTERED ON THE
MAP OF THE MINE- IF HE SUSPECTS AN EXCESSIVE
PROPORTION OF CARBON DIOXIDE OR INSUFFICIENT OXYGEN IN
THE ATMOSPHERE OF ANY MINE, HE SHALL TAKE THE TEST
PRESCRIBED BY THE BUREAU. IF THE TEST DISCLOSES A
VENTILATING CURRENT BELOW OR APPROACHING THE MINIMUM
STANDARD, HE SHALL REQUIRE THE OPERATOR, BY WRITTEN
SAFETY ORDER, TO IMPROVE IMMEDIATELY THE MINE'S
VENTILATION.
