ACCORDANCE WITH THE RULES OF THE STATE DEPARTMENT OF
PERSONNEL. EACH APPOINTED MINER AND OPERATOR MEMBER
RECEIVES $12 FOR EACH DAY OF SERVICE RENDERED AS A
BOARD MEMBER. HE SHALL BE REIMBURSED FOR NECESSARY
TRAVELING EXPENSES AND DISBURSEMENTS MADE IN THE
CONDUCT OF HIS OFFICIAL DUTIES, NOT TO EXCEED $200 IN
ANY YEAR.
REVISOR'S NOTE: This subsection presently appears
as Article 66C, section 506 of the Code, as
amended by Chapter 679, S.B. 390, Acts of
1973. The reference to the "State
Commissioner of Personnel" is proposed for
deletion and "State Department of
Personnel" is substituted therefor in light
of Chapter 98, Acts of 1970. This
subsection provides for the positions of
associate members to the board. For
purposes of clarity these positions have
been redesignated as appointed miner and
operator so as to be distinguished from the
director who serves as chairman, ex
officio, of this board. The director has
his own separate qualifications (see
section 7-202). The only other changes
made are in style.
(B) MEETINGS.—THE EXAMINING BOARD SHALL MEET AT
A PLACE IT SELECTS, WHICH IS CONVENIENT FOR ANY
APPLICANT FOR EXAMINATION. IT SHALL MEET SPECIALLY
UPON THE CALL OF THE CHAIRMAN FOR THE PURPOSE OF
PREPARING OR CONDUCTING AN EXAMINATION. HOWEVER, THE
EXAMINING BOARD MAY NOT SIT FOR AN EXAMINATION LONGER
THAN FOUR DAYS AT ANY MEETING. AT LEAST 30 DAYS'
NOTICE OF ANY MEETING FOR AN EXAMINATION SHALL BE
GIVEN BY PLACING POSTERS AT EACH MINE AND LOCAL POST
OFFICE IN OR CONTIGUOUS TO THE COAL MINING TERRITORY
THROUGHOUT THE STATE.

(C) RULES AND REGULATIONS.—THE EXAMINING BOARD
MAY MAKE RULES AND REGULATIONS. COPIES SHALL BE
