7-207. INSPECTOR OF WEIGHTS AND MINE SCALES;
APPOINTMENT; COMPENSATION; OATH.
THE GOVERNOR, [[ON THE RECOMMENDATION]] WITH THE
ADVICE OF THE SECRETARY, SHALL APPOINT FROM A LIST OF
ELIGIBLE PERSONS ESTABLISHED BY THE SECRETARY OF
PERSONNEL, AN INSPECTOR OF WEIGHTS AND MINE SCALES WHO
SHALL BE PAID THE SALARY AND FURNISHED WITH THE
EQUIPMENT PROVIDED IN THE STATE BUDGET. BEFORE
ENTERING UPON THE DUTIES OF OFFICE, THE INSPECTOR
SHALL TAKE THE OATH PRESCRIBED BY THE CONSTITUTION,
THE INSPECTOR SHALL BE REIMBURSED FOR NECESSARY
TRAVELING EXPENSES ON SUBMISSION OF MONTHLY ACCOUNTS
PROPERLY SUPPORTED BY VOUCHERS APPROVED BY THE
DIRECTOR WITHIN AN AMOUNT THAT DOES NOT EXCEED THE
ALLOWANCE PROVIDED IN THE STATE BUDGET. HE IS SUBJECT
TO THE RULES AND REGULATIONS AS TO THE PERFORMANCE OF
HIS DUTIES, INCLUDING THE MAKING OF REPORTS,
ESTABLISHED BY THE DIRECTOR OF THE BUREAU.
REVISOR'S NOTE: This section presently appears as
Article 66C, section 501 of the Code. The
reference to "State Commissioner of
Personnel" is proposed for deletion and
"Secretary of Personnel" is substituted
therefor in light of Chapter 98, Acts of
1970. The only other changes made are in
style.
7-208. DISTRICT MINE INSPECTORS.
(A) APPOINTMENT, OATH, AND EXPENSES.—THE
GOVERNOR, [[ON RECOMMENDATION]] WITH THE ADVICE OF THE
DIRECTOR, CONCURRED IN BY THE SECRETARY, SHALL APPOINT
FROM A LIST OF ELIGIBLE PERSONS ESTABLISHED BY THE
SECRETARY OF PERSONNEL, AT LEAST THREE DISTRICT MINE
INSPECTORS, AS AUTHORIZED BY APPROPRIATION OR OTHER
LAW. BEFORE ENTERING UPON HIS DUTIES, EACH DISTRICT
INSPECTOR SHALL TAKE THE OATH PRESCRIBED BY THE
CONSTITUTION. EACH DISTRICT INSPECTOR SHALL BE
REIMBURSED FOR NECESSARY TRAVELING EXPENSES UPON THE
PRESENTATION OF MONTHLY ACCOUNTS PROPERLY SUPPORTED BY
VOUCHERS APPROVED BY THE DIRECTOR WITHIN THE ALLOWANCE
PROVIDED IN THE STATE BUDGET.
