any particular species of FISH MAY NOT BE CAUGHT
LEGALLY AND INCLUDES ANY PERIOD OF TIME NOT INCLUDED
WITHIN THE OPEN SEASON.

the Code. It is adapted for the subject

[[(D)]] (E) "DEPARTMENT" MEANS DEPARTMENT OF
NATURAL RESOURCES.

Department of Natural Resources.
[[(E)]] (F) "FISH" MEANS FINFISH, CRUSTACEANS,
MOLLUSKS, AND AMPHIBIANS AND REPTILES WHICH SPEND THE
MAJORITY OF THEIR LIFE CYCLE IN WATER AND ANY PART,
EGG, OFFSPRING, OR DEAD BODY OF ANY OF THESE SPECIES.
REVISOR'S NOTE: This definition is new language.
It is added to establish a uniform meaning
of the word whenever it is used in a
general and all encompassing sense.
Present statutory provisions use different
terms which create confusion. Whenever a
provision of a section of this title
pertains only to a particular type of fish
(i.e. crabs or oysters), then only the name
of the particular type of the fish is used.
The term "crustaceans and mollusks" is used
which includes shellfish and other species
of aquatic life such as crabs, oysters,
clams, lobsters, shrimp, and scallops that,
biologically, do not completely fall within
the terms finfish or shellfish.
The broad definition of "fish" is not
necessarily applicable to the use of the
word in the various interstate compacts in
