1502                                        LAWS OF MARYLAND                             [Ch. 6

SEC. 4-111. SLAUGHTERHOUSE PREMISES, FACILITIES, AND
SANITARY PRACTICES.

EACH OFFICIAL ESTABLISHMENT SHALL HAVE THE
PREMISES, FACILITIES, AND EQUIPMENT REQUIRED BY
DEPARTMENTAL RULE OR REGULATION. IN ADDITION, EACH
OFFICIAL ESTABLISHMENT SHALL BE OPERATED IN ACCORDANCE
WITH SANITARY PRACTICES REQUIRED BY THE DEPARTMENTAL
RULES AND REGULATIONS.

REVISOR'S NOTE: This section presently appears as
Art. 66C, §470G of the Code. The clause of
the first sentence describing the
establishments subject to this section is
proposed for deletion and a reference to
"official establishment" is substituted
therefor. Only establishments meeting the
description of §4—111 are inspected and
they are the only ones qualifying as
"official establishments" under §4-101(s).
The last sentence is proposed for deletion
because it is set forth as new language in
§4-113(a). The only other changes made are
in style.

SEC. 4-112. LABELING, MARKING, AND CONTAINER.

(A)   LABELING REQUIRED.

EVERY LIVESTOCK CARCASS, PART OF IT, OR MEAT FOOD
PRODUCT INSPECTED AT AN OFFICIAL ESTABLISHMENT AND
FOUND TO BE NOT ADULTERATED SHALL BE LABELED TO COMPLY
WITH THE REQUIREMENTS OF §4-101(P) AND THE
DEPARTMENTAL RULES AND REGULATIONS IN DISTINCTLY
LEGIBLE FORM DIRECTLY ON THE ARTICLE OR ITS CONTAINER
WHEN IT LEAVES THE ESTABLISHMENT.

(B)   MARKING AND CONTAINER REQUIRED.

THE SECRETARY MAY PRESCRIBE: (1) THE STYLES AND
SIZES OF TYPE TO BE USED IN MARKING AND LABELING ANY
ARTICLE SUBJECT TO THIS SUBTITLE; AND (2) THE

AND FILL OF CONTAINED FOR ANY ARTICLE SUBJECT TO THIS
SUBTITLE.

REVISOR'S NOTE: Subsection (a) is new language
derived from Art. 66C, §470H(a) of the
Code, which is proposed for deletion here.
Language is added to indicate that this
section regulates "livestock" carcass
