added because Art. 1, §14 provides that
"county" includes Baltimore City unless
this interpretation is unreasonable. The
"unreasonable language" of Art. 1, §14 has
been interpreted various ways and,
therefore, the General Assembly concluded
an explicit definition of "county" should
be included here.

[[(B)]] (C) "DEPARTMENT" MEANS THE STATE
DEPARTMENT OF AGRICULTURE.

REVISOR'S NOTE: This subsection is new language
added to avoid repetitive use of the phrase
"Department of Agriculture" in this
Article. This definition refers to the
State Department of Agriculture to avoid
confusing this definition with the United
States Department of Agriculture.

[[(C)]] (D) "INTRASTATE COMMERCE" MEANS COMMERCE
WHOLLY WITHIN THE STATE.

REVISOR'S NOTE: This subsection is new language
derived from an identical provision of Art.
66C, §470C(g) and Art. 43, §197-4(f) of the
Code. It is set forth here because it
applies to several titles of this Article.

[[(D)]] (E) "LIVESTOCK" MEANS LIVING OR DEAD
CATTLE, EQUINES, GOATS, SHEEP, OR SWINE, UNLESS
OTHERWISE PROVIDED.

REVISOR'S NOTE: This subsection is new language
added to define the domestic animals
included in the word "livestock".
"Livestock" provisions now are set forth in
Titles 3 and 4 and frequently no definition
of the term is given. The last clause of
the present definition is added to indicate
that this general definition does not apply
when the law provides a different
definition. For example, see §3-301 (c).
