UNITS, OR AN INDIVIDUAL, RECEIVER, TRUSTEE, GUARDIAN,
EXECUTOR, ADMINISTRATOR, FIDUCIARY, OR REPRESENTATIVE
OF ANY KIND, OR ANY PARTNERSHIP, FIRM, ASSOCIATION,
PUBLIC OR PRIVATE CORPORATION, OR ANY OTHER ENTITY,
UNLESS OTHERWISE PROVIDED.

REVISOR'S NOTE: This subsection is new language
setting forth a broad definition of the
word "person" as used in this Article. It
is identical to the definition of person
used throughout the Natural Resources
Article. This definition is derived in
part from Art. 43, §197-4(b); Art. 48, §§
118(a), 130(o), 166C; Art. 66C, §§ 435(a),
470(c), and 473(a). The phrase "unless
otherwise provided" is added to this
definition to permit other sections of this
Article to provide different definitions of
"person".

[[(F)]] (G) "POULTRY" MEANS ANY LIVING OR DEAD
DOMESTICATED BIRD.

REVISOR'S NOTE: This section presently appears as
Art. 43, §197-4(g) of the Code. It is set
forth here because, according to the
Department, it is applicable to the entire
Article, not merely the Poultry Products
Inspection Act. The only other changes
made are in style.

[[(G)]] (H) "SECRETARY" MEANS SECRETARY OF
AGRICULTURE OR HIS DESIGNEE.

REVISOR'S NOTE: This subsection is new language
added to avoid repetitive use of the phrase
"Secretary of Agriculture". This
definition refers to the "designee" of the
Secretary to infers the Code user that the
Secretary may delegate any of his powers or
responsibilities under this Article.

[[(H)]] (I) "ANY STATE" MEANS ANY STATE,
POSSESSION OR TERRITORY OF THE UNITED STATES, THE
DISTRICT OF COLUMBIA, OR THE COMMONWEALTH OF PUERTO
RICO.

REVISOR'S NOTE: This subsection is new language
added to avoid repetitive use of the phrase
"state, territory, or the District of
Columbia" throughout the Article.
