(House Bill 1347)

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 39 of the Code of
Public Local Laws of St. Mary's County (1965 Edition and 1972 Supplement,
being Article 19 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland), title "St.
Mary's County," subtitle "County Commissioners," to provide for equipping
and maintaining an addition to the Nursing Home.

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That Section 39 of the Code of Public Local Laws of St. Mary's
County (1965 Edition and 1972 Supplement, being Article 19 of the Code of Public
Local Laws of Maryland), title "St. Mary's County," subtitle "County
Commissioners," be and it is hereby repealed and re-enacted, with amendments, to
read as follows:

39.

For the purposes of acquiring land for and of constructing, equipping and
maintaining a nursing home in the county, and for EQUIPPING AND
MAINTAINING AN ADDITION TO THE NURSING HOME, patient care
therein, the County Commissioners are authorized and empowered to use the
general funds of the county and are further authorized to borrow such additional
sums as they may deem necessary for such purposes on short term notes from any
bank or trust company in the county and to pledge the credit of the county for the
repayment thereof together with all interest as it becomes due.

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act shall take
effect July 1, 1973.

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 31 (a) of Article 59 of
the Annotated Code of Maryland (1971 Replacement Volume and 1972
Supplement), title "Mental Hygiene," subtitle "Facilities," and to repeal and
re-enact, with amendments, Section 19(a) of Article 59A of the Annotated Code
of Maryland (1971 Replacement Volume and 1972 Supplement), title "Mental
Retardation," subtitle "Facilities," to change the names of existing public
facilities under the general jurisdiction of the Commissioner of Mental Hygiene
from "State Hospital" to "Center," and to change the names of existing public
facilities under the general jurisdiction of the Mental Retardation
Administration from "State Hospital" to "Center."

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That Section 31(a) of Article 59 of the Annotated Code of
