(House Bill 835)
AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 3(1) of Article 25 of
the Annotated Code of Maryland (1966 Replacement Volume and 1972 Interim
Supplement), title "County Commissioners," subtitle "General Provisions," to
increase the amount above which competitive bidding must be used by the
county commissioners of Somerset County from $500.00 to [[$2,500.00]]
$1,000.00.
SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That Section 3(1) of Article 25 of the Annotated Code of
Maryland (1966 Replacement Volume and 1972 Interim Supplement), title
"County Commissioners," subtitle "General Provisions," be and it is hereby
repealed and re-enacted, with amendments, to read as follows:

(1) To provide for competitive bidding for any county work and the making
and awarding of contracts for the purchase of materials and supplies in excess of
$2,500 in St. Mary's County, in excess of $1,000 in Harford County, SOMERSET
COUNTY, and Talbot County, in excess of $2,500 in Worcester County and
Charles County, in excess of $1,500 in Allegany County, and in all other counties
$500 and to require bonds in connection with said work or contracts, whenever
deemed proper; and if no bids are submitted in response to any calls therefor, to
place the order as in their discretion they deem best. The provisions of this
subsection will not be applicable in Kent County.
SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act shall take
effect July 1, 1973.

CHAPTER 325
(House Bill 843)
AN ACT to add new Section 34PP to the Code of Public Local Laws of Carroll
County (1965 Edition, being Article 7 of the Code of Public Local Laws of
Maryland), title "Carroll County," subtitle "County Commissioners," to follow
immediately after Section 34-OO thereof, as added by Chapter 744 of the Acts
of 1971, to provide in Carroll County that the County Commissioners may
make rules and regulations for the issuance of licenses to conduct electrical
business, defining electrical work, examination of applicants, issuance of work
permits, and other requirements and providing for the appointment of an
Electrical Board to aid and advise the County Commissioners.
SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That new Section 34PP be and it is hereby added to the Code of
Public Local Laws of Carroll County (1965 Edition, being Article 7 of the Code of
Public Local Laws of Maryland), title "Carroll County," subtitle "County
Commissioners," to follow immediately after Section 34-OO thereof, as added by
Chapter 744 of the Acts of 1971, to read as follows:
