provisions or any other application of this Act which can be given effect without
the invalid provision or application, and for this purpose the provisions of this Act
are declared severable.

SECTION [[3]] 4. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act shall
take effect June 1, 1973.

(House Bill 832)

AN ACT to add new Section 354(c)(15) to Article 43 of the Annotated Code of
Maryland (1971 Replacement Volume), title "Health," subtitle "Funeral
Directors and Embalmers," to follow immediately after Section 354(c)(14)
thereof, to provide an additional cause or ground for revocation or suspension
of a funeral director's license for failure to give to the person making funeral
arrangements a statement, and describing the content required in such
statement.

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That new Section 354(c)(15) be and it is hereby added to Article
43 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1971 Replacement Volume), title
"Health," subtitle "Funeral Directors and Embalmers," to follow immediately
after Section 354(c)(14) thereof, and to read as follows:

354.

(c)(15) FAILURE TO GIVE OR CAUSE TO BE GIVEN, AT THE TIME
FUNERAL ARRANGEMENTS ARE MADE, TO THE PERSON MAKING
OR ORDERING A FUNERAL A WRITTEN STATEMENT WHICH
CONTAINS THE FOLLOWING:

(I)  THE SERVICES INCLUDING MERCHANDISE SELECTED AND
THE TOTAL PRICE THEREFOR;

(II)     THE SUPPLEMENTAL ITEMS OF SERVICE AND/OR
MERCHANDISE REQUESTED, AND THE PRICE OF EACH SUCH ITEM;

(III)   INSOFAR AS IT CAN BE SPECIFIED AT THAT TIME, THE
ITEMS FOR WHICH THE FUNERAL DIRECTOR WILL ADVANCE HIS
MONEY AS AN ACCOMODATION; AND

(IV) THE TERMS OR METHOD OF PAYMENT.

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act shall take
effect July 1, 1973.
