The expenditure of any of this appropriation for aiding in the acquisition of
land and construction of an impoundment on the Piney Run tributary of the south
branch of the Patapsco River in Carroll County is subject to the condition that on
or before July 1, [1970, Carroll County, Maryland, shall provide or have available
(from county and available federal funds, or either of them) a sum equivalent to
the difference between the proceeds of the State bond issue authorized herein and
the actual price of acquisition of land and construction of an impoundment on the
Piney Run tributary of the south branch of the Patapsco River in Carroll County
at the time of purchase.] 1973, CARROLL COUNTY, MARYLAND AND
THE STATE OF MARYLAND, DEPARTMENT OF NATURAL
RESOURCES SHALL ENTER INTO AN AGREEMENT WHICH
PROVIDES THAT CARROLL COUNTY, MARYLAND SHALL PAY THE
TOTAL ACTUAL COST OF SUCH ACQUISITION AND CONSTRUCTION
REMAINING AFTER ALL FEDERAL FUNDS, STATE GENERAL FUNDS
AND STATE BOND FUNDS HEREUNDER HAVE BEEN APPLIED. THE
ENACTMENT OF THIS SECTION SHALL NOT PRECLUDE A
CONTRIBUTION OF STATE GENERAL FUNDS TO SUCH PROJECT
PURSUANT TO THE PROVISIONS OF SECTION 52 OF ARTICLE 96A OF
THE ANNOTATED CODE OF MARYLAND (1964 REPLACEMENT
VOLUME, AS AMENDED) The Board of Public Works shall determine if this
condition is met and shall approve the provisions for the availability and use of
these funds prior to authorizing the expenditure of any State monies under this
Act.

SEC. 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1973.

CHAPTER 273
(Senate Bill 1101)

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 40 (o) of Article 10 of
the Annotated Code of Maryland (1972 Supplement), title "Attorneys At Law
and Attorneys In Fact," subtitle "State's Attorney," providing for the increase
of the State's Attorney's expense account and salary in Kent County and the
employment of a criminal investigator and administrative coordinator.

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That Section 40 (o) of Article 10 of the Annotated Code of
Maryland (1972 Supplement), title "Attorneys At Law and Attorneys In Fact,"
subtitle "State's Attorney," be and it is hereby repealed and re-enacted, with
amendments, to read as follows:

40.

(o) In Kent County, (1) the State's Attorney's salary is eight thousand dollars
($8,000). BEGINNING AS OF JANUARY 1, 1975, THE STATE'S
ATTORNEY'S SALARY SHALL BE TWELVE THOUSAND DOLLARS
($12,000).
