OTHERWISE BE ENTITLED BY LAW.
(B) MONEYS EXPENDED FROM APPROPRIATIONS OF THE
MARYLAND STATE POLICE, INTELLIGENCE DIVISION, FOR
PURCHASE OF CONTROLLED DANGEROUS SUBSTANCES AND
SUBSEQUENTLY RECOVERED SHALL BE REIMBURSED TO THE
CURRENT APPROPRIATION FOR THAT AGENCY.
(C) THE SUPERINTENDENT OF STATE POLICE MAY ADVANCE
FUNDS IN CONNECTION WITH THE ENFORCEMENT OF THIS
SECTION.
SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act shall take
effect July 1, 1973.

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 40(p) of Article 10 of
the Annotated Code of Maryland (1968 Replacement Volume and 1972
Supplement), title "Attorneys At Law and Attorneys In Fact," subtitle "State's
Attorney," to increase the number of clerks, assistant State's attorneys and
special investigators authorized for the Montgomery County State's Attorney's
Office; to provide for the appointment, duties, and salary of a
research-investigator in the Montgomery County State's Attorney's Office who
shall not engage in other employment during the time he is employed as
research-investigator; to provide for the appointment, duties and salary of five
full time para-legal interns and five part time para-legal interns in the
Montgomery County State's Attorney's Office; to re-number certain
sub-paragraphs of this Section; to clarify certain language in this Section; and
generally relating to the State's Attorney's Office in Montgomery County.
SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That Section 40(p) of Article 10 of the Annotated Code of
Maryland (1968 Replacement Volume and 1972 Supplement), title "Attorneys At
Law and Attorneys In Fact," subtitle "State's Attorney," be and it is hereby
repealed and re-enacted, with amendments, to read as follows:
40.
(p) In Montgomery County, (1) the State's Attorney's salary is thirty thousand
dollars ($30,000) per annum. The State's Attorney shall devote his full time and
attention to the duties of his office as State's Attorney and shall not engage in the
private practice of law at any time in any jurisdiction during his tenure of office.
(2) The State's Attorney may appoint two deputy State's Attorneys and
[eleven] TWELVE assistant State's Attorneys. The deputy and assistant State's
attorneys' salaries shall be determined by the State's Attorney in his discretion, but
THE SALARY OF EACH shall not exceed twenty-five thousand dollars
($25,000). The deputy State's attorneys and the assistant State's attorneys shall
devote their full time and attention to the duties of their offices and shall not
