he has been called; provided, however, that no time
shall be charged for a premature response to a call.
(2) Time consumed for delays or stay
overs en route to the destination at the request or
direction of the passenger.
(3) Waiting time shall not include time
lost on account of inefficiency of the taxicab.
(b) The rate for waiting time shall be ten
cents per delay and stay over and ten cents per minute
[8 cents per minute] with a maximum of $6.00 per hour
[$4.80 per hour], or [10 cents for each 1-1/4 minutes
when the rates are computed by meter.]
(c) Hiring of a taxicab and driver shall be Six
Dollars ($6.00) per hour plus mileage.
SECTION 4. Luggage Rates
{a) Two pieces of standard size luggage or two
bundles or packages, including grocery bags, equal in
size to a standard size suitcase shall be carried free
of charge per trip. Extra luggage, bundles, or
packages, including grocery bags, shall be charged at
the rate of 10 cents each; provided, however, brief
cases or parcels of comparable size shall not be
considered as luggage and shall not be subject to any
chargeable fees.
(b) Trunks — a trunk is defined as a piece of
luggage having a minimum content of three cubic feet,
or 9" x 16" x 36". The charge for transporting a
trunk shall be One Dollar ($1.00) in addition to all
other fares.
SECTION 5. DURING INCLEMENT WEATHER THE DRIVER
SHALL HAVE THE RIGHT TO CHARGE INDIVIDUAL FARES TO THE
POINT OF DESTINATION. INCLEMENT WEATHER SHALL BE
DETERMINED BY THE TAXICAB DIRECTOR FOR PRINCE GEORGE'S
COUNTY.
Section [5] 6. Effective date. Be it further
enacted that this bill shall go into effect 45 days
after enactment; provided, however, that the original
General Proposal Number 3-1968 and General Resolution
Number 3—1968 shall remain in full force and effect
until this bill becomes effective; and provided
further that all increases in rates and charges
