MONTGOMERY COUNTY

Board of areas 1, 2, or 3, as hereinabove described.

(b) The members of the Fire Board to be
elected by the Fire Area Committee shall be elected
for terms commencing on January 1, 1954, and shall
serve until their successors are duly chosen and
qualified, as hereinafter provided:

(1)    The terms of the members

elected from Area No. 1 shall expire on December 31,
1956.

(2)    The terms of the four members

elected from Area No. 2 shall expire on December 31,
1955, and the terms of two members from this area
shall expire on December 31, 1961.

(3)    The terms of the members

elected from Area So. 3 shall expire on December 31,
1954.

(c)    Any member elected by the Fire Area
Committee to succeed an original member of the Fire
Board hereby created shall be elected for a term of
three years, commencing upon the expiration of the
term of office for which his predecessor was elected,
provided that any member elected to fill a vacancy
occurring prior to the expiration of the term of
office for which his predecessor was elected shall
hold office only for the remainder of such term.

(d)    Members of the Fire Board shall serve
without compensation. The Fire Board shall annually
elect a chairman from among its members and shall
elect or appoint such other officers, agents or
committees as it may deem necessary or desirable and
prescribe their duties, qualifications and tenure of
office. The Fire Board shall adopt such regulations
governing its affairs as it may deem appropriate.

(e)    The Fire Board shall, subject to the
requirements of Public General and Public Local Laws,
have charge of the leasing or purchase of such real
property as nay be required for the operation of the
fire department, as well as the location, design and
erection of any and all improvements thereon. The
Fire Board is hereby empowered to provide for the sale
or other disposition of any real or personal property
owned by the fire department, which was purchased in
whole or in part with funds derived from taxation, and
