credit committee until the election and qualification of successors; to have charge
of the investment of funds of the corporation except loans to members and to
perform such other duties as the members may from time to time authorize.] TO
FILL VACANCIES IN THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS UNTIL THE
ELECTION AND QUALIFICATION OF SUCCESSORS, AND TO FILL
VACANCIES IN THE CREDIT COMMITTEE AND SUPERVISORY
COMMITTEE UNTIL APPOINTMENT AND QUALIFICATION OF THEIR
SUCCESSORS; TO HAVE CHARGE OF THE INVESTMENT OF FUNDS
OF THE CORPORATION EXCEPT LOANS TO MEMBERS AND TO
PERFORM SUCH OTHER DUTIES AS THE MEMBERS MAY FROM
TIME TO TIME AUTHORIZE. (4) To authorize and fix the amount of
compensation for the treasurer.

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act shall take
effect July 1, 1973.

CHAPTER 162

(House Bill 916)

AN ACT to repeal Sections 8-39, [[10-2, 10-3,]] 13-1, 13-2, 13-3, 13-4, 13-5,
33-1, 33-2, 33-3, and 40-3 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Washington
County (1970 Edition, being Article 22 of the Code of Public Local Laws of
Maryland), title "Washington County," subtitles "County Commissioners,"
"Election Districts," "Fences," "Surveyor," and "Witnesses," respectively,
[[and to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 10-1 of the same Code
and title, subtitle "Election Districts," 11 to eliminate certain obsolete sections
of the Washington County Code of Public Local Laws relating to County
Commissioners, [[Election Districts,]] Fences, Witnesses, and the County
Surveyor; I [to specify the actual number of election districts in Washington
County 11; to clarify the language therein; and to provide that the sections
relating to the county surveyor become effective at the end of the term of the
surveyor presently in office.

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That Sections 8-39, [[10-2, 10-3,]] 13-1, 13-2, 13-3, 13-4, 13-5,
33-1, 33-2, 33-3, and 40-3 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Washington
County (1970 Edition, being Article 22 of the Code of Public Local Laws of
Maryland), title "Washington County," subtitles "County Commissioners,"
[[Election Districts,"]] "Fences," "Surveyor," and Witnesses," respectively, are
hereby repealed, [[and that Section 10-1 of the same Code and title, subtitle
"Election Districts," is hereby repealed and re-enacted, with amendments, and all
to read as follows: ]]

[[10-1.

Washington County is divided into [twenty-three] TWENTY-SEVEN election
districts, according to their present names, bounds and limits, and all elections for
public officers shall be held in the [said] districts, at the places [therein
heretofore] established by law for that purpose. ]]
