Whereas, the Mayor and Council of the Town of Hampstead, pursuant to the
petitions requesting annexation, is introducing this resolution providing that the
present corporate boundaries of the Town of Hampstead be extended to include
the areas described in the petition; and

Whereas, the Mayor and Council of the Town of Hampstead will cause a notice
of the proposed enlargement of the corporate boundaries of the Town of
Hampstead to be published not less than four times at weekly intervals in The
Carroll Record, a newspaper of general circulation, in the Town of Hampstead and
the area to be annexed, said notice describing the proposed enlargement and
circumstances thereto and specifying the time, date and place at which a public
hearing will be held on the proposed annexation, said public hearing is to be held
on June 12, 1972, at 7:30 o'clock P.M. at the Town Hall, Main Street,
Hampstead, Maryland, the said date being more than fifteen (15) days after the
fourth publication of the notice in the aforementioned newspaper; and

Whereas, the Mayor and Council of the Town of Hampstead deems the
enlargement of the corporate boundaries to be advisable and to be in the public
interest.

SECTION 1. Be it therefore RESOLVED by the Mayor and Council of the Town of
Hampstead that all of the land lying within the boundaries of the hereinafter
described tract saving and excepting the described exceptions shall be annexed to and
become a part of the Town of Hampstead:

a. Carroll County General Hospital, Inc., Walsh Equipment and Construction
Company, Inc., Hampstead Car Wash and Schultz Tract situate on the North side
of Maryland Route 482, the East and West sides of Maryland Route 30,
contiguous to and adjacent to the Northernmost corporate boundary lines of the
Town of Hampstead, in the Eighth Election District of Carroll County, Maryland,
and described by Certificate of Survey by J. H. Rife, Registered Surveyor, dated
January 31, 1972, as follows:

Beginning for a corner at a point in the center of Maryland State Route 482
said point being in the North 43 degrees 06 minutes 52 seconds West, 1124.39 foot
line of the 436.9731 acres tract of the Carroll County General Hospital, Inc., said
point being 15.43 feet from the end thereof; then with said line and the outlines of
said tract (1) North 43 degrees 06 minutes 52 seconds West, 15.43 feet to a point
on the north side of said road; then running with the north side of said road (2)
South 70 degrees 09 minutes 32 seconds West, 449.70 feet to a point 14.17 feet
north of the center of said road; then (3) South 07 degrees 39 minutes 32 seconds
West, 14.85 feet to a point one foot north of the centerline of said road; then with
said road (4) South 70 degrees 09 minutes 32 seconds West, 431.97 feet to a point
one foot north of the centerline of said road; then leaving said road (5) North 17
degrees 04 minutes 47 seconds West, 17.17 feet to a steel pin, then continuing on
the same line North 17 degrees 04 minutes 47 seconds West, 91.35 feet to an axle;
then (6) North 05 degrees 29 minutes 13 seconds West, 432.03 feet to an axle at a
stone; then (7) North 43 degrees 07 minutes 09 seconds West 309.80 feet to an axle
at a stone; then (8) South 18 degrees 23 minutes 28 seconds West, 41.33 feet to an
axle at a large stone; then (9) North 41 degrees 44 minutes 06 seconds West,
2359.89 feet to an axle on the southeast bank of a stream; then (10) South 46
degrees 12 minutes 18 seconds West, 611.65 feet to an axle at a stone on the north
side of a lane; then (11) North 84 degrees 45 minutes 37 seconds West, 187.14 feet
to a steel pin on the north side of said lane; then crossing said lane (12) North 33
degrees 57 minutes 04 seconds West, 329.37 feet to an axle at a stone; then leaving
