ANNEXATION RESOLUTION NO. 3

A RESOLUTION OF THE MAYOR AND COUNCIL OF THE TOWN OF
HAMPSTEAD TO ENLARGE THE CORPORATE BOUNDARIES OF THE

TOWN OF HAMPSTEAD AND THEREBY AMEND THE CHARTER OF

THE

TOWN OF HAMPSTEAD.

Whereas, at regular and special meetings of the Mayor and Council of the
Town of Hampstead held on September 13, 1971, March 20, 1972 and April 22,
1972, petitions were presented in writing signed by persons who are owners and
residents of certain real estate lying and being contiguous to the existing corporate
boundary lines of the Town of Hampstead to enlarge the corporate boundaries of
said Town by the annexation of their real property North and Southeast of said
boundaries in the Eighth Election District of Carroll County, Maryland, and

Whereas, the Mayor and Council of the Town of Hampstead has caused to be
made a verification of the signatures upon said petition and it has ascertained that
the persons signing the petition represent at least twenty-five per cent (25%) of the
persons who reside in the area to be annexed and who are registered voters in
county elections in the precinct or precincts in which the territory to be annexed is
located, and are the owners of a least twenty-five per cent (25%) of the assessed
valuation of the real property located in the area to be annexed; and
