RESOLUTION NO. R-7-72

A RESOLUTION authorizing the annexation by the City of Gaithersburg of
approximately 91.8902 acres of land located to the South and East of the present
corporate boundaries at the intersection of Muddy Branch and Fields Road.

WHEREAS, The Mayor and Council of the City of Gaithersburg have received
a written Petition requesting the enlargement of the corporate boundaries of the
City of Gaithersburg so as to include an additional area encompassing
approximately 91.8902 acres of land located to the South and East of the present
corporate boundaries at the intersection of Muddy Branch and Fields Road, and
adjacent thereto; and

WHEREAS, the signatures of the said Petition of Consent have been verified
and it has been ascertained that the persons signing said petition are owners of not
less than twenty-five percent (25%) of the assessed valuation of the real property
located in the area to be annexed and represent at least twenty-five percent (25%)
of the persons who reside in the area to be annexed who are registered as voters in
County elections.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Mayor and Council of the
City of Gaithersburg that the Charter of the City of Gaithersburg be and it hereby
is amended by adding a new section thereto to read as follows:

THE CORPORATE BOUNDARIES OF THE CITY OF GAITHERSBURG
BE AND THEY HEREBY ARE ENLARGED BY INCLUDING THEREIN
