SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That Section 311 of Article 43 of the Annotated Code of
Maryland (1971 Replacement Volume), title "Health," subtitle "State Board of
Barber Examiners," be and it is hereby repealed and re-enacted, with amendments,
to read as follows:
311.
The Governor, with the advice of the Secretary of Licensing and Regulation,
shall appoint a Board of Barber Examiners for the State of Maryland, which shall
be a part of the Department of Licensing and Regulation. The Board shall consist
of five members, two of whom shall serve for a term of two years, two of whom
shall serve for a term of three years, and one of whom shall serve for a term of
five years from the date when their appointments take effect, (except in the case of
an appointment to fill a vacancy). UPON THE EXPIRATION OF THE TERM
OF ANY MEMBER WHO IS IN OFFICE AS OF JULY 1,1973, THE
SUBSEQUENT APPOINTMENT SHALL BE FOR A TERM OF FIVE
YEARS. No person shall be eligible to appointment as a member of said Board
unless he has been continuously for five years last past engaged in the occupation
of a barber within this State.
SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That nothing in this Act
shall be construed or applied to change the terms of the members of the Board of
Barber Examiners who are in office on the effective date of this Act, for the
remainder of the terms in which they are serving.
SECTION 3. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act shall take
effect July 1, 1973.

(House Bill 450)
AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 76(d) of Article 56 of
the Annotated Code of Maryland (1972 Replacement Volume), title "Licenses,"
subtitle "Private Detectives," to require that the principal and each branch
office operated by a private detective agency be operated under the control of
an individual licensee; and to provide that the business of an individual licensee
may be continued for a certain period of time under certain conditions [[; and to
provide that the principal and each branch office of such licensees be maintained
and open during certain hours]].
