THE STATE'S ATTORNEY, THE DEPUTY STATE'S ATTORNEY OR
AN ASSISTANT STATE'S ATTORNEY OF WASHINGTON COUNTY
SHALL BE IN ATTENDANCE AND AVAILABLE TO THE DISTRICT
COURT FOR WASHINGTON COUNTY AT ALL TIMES REQUISITE FOR
PROSECUTING CASES, CONSULTING WITH THE COURT, AND
RENDERING OTHER SERVICES AS ARE CONNECTED WITH, OR IN
FURTHERANCE OF, THE PERFORMANCE OF THE DUTIES OF THE
OFFICE OF STATE'S ATTORNEY OR OTHERWISE MANDATED FOR
THE STATE'S ATTORNEY OF WASHINGTON COUNTY.
SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act shall take
effect July 1, 1973.

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 66-4 [[(b)]] of the
Code of Public Local Laws of Montgomery County (1965 Edition, being Article
16 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland), title "Montgomery
County," subtitle "Title III. City, Town and Village Laws," subheading
"Subtitle 3. Villages," providing that the citizens committee shall be elected by
and from the registered and qualified voters of Montgomery County residing in
Friendship Heights and the Hills, and providing for filling vacancies.
SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That Section 66-4[[(b)]] of the Code of Public Local Laws of
Montgomery County (1965 Edition, being Article 16 of the Code of Public Local
Laws of Maryland), title "Montgomery County," subtitle "Title III. City, Town
and Village Laws," subheading "Subtitle 3. Villages," be and it is hereby repealed
and re-enacted, with amendments, to read as follows:
66-4.
[[(b)]] On the second Monday in May in the year 1923, and on the same date
in every second year thereafter, an election shall be held in the said villages for the
election of seven members, each of whom shall be a [resident taxpayer upon real
or personal property situate] REGISTERED AND QUALIFIED VOTER OF
MONTGOMERY COUNTY RESIDING in said villages, to be and constitute
the "Friendship Heights Citizens' Committee" for the next succeeding two years,
and until their successors duly qualify, each of whom shall qualify on or before the
fourth Monday in May thereafter by taking an oath, before an officer of the law
duly commissioned to administer same, to diligently and faithfully discharge the
duties of the office. In case any such person so elected as committeeman, shall fail
to qualify within the time hereinbefore mentioned, or in case of any vacancy
through death, resignation or otherwise, the said county council shall fill such
vacancy by the appointment of a [[resident (taxpayer]] [resident taxpayer upon
real or personal property situate] REGISTERED AND QUALIFIED VOTER
OF MONTGOMERY COUNTY RESIDING in said villages, who shall hold
office for such term or unexpired term. The election of said committeemen, as
herein provided, shall be held under and in accordance with the laws of the State
of Maryland, but the returns thereof shall be made to the county council of
