1972, CHAPTER 369 - Consent Calendars in General Assembly

STATE ADMINISTRATIVE BOARD OF ELECTION LAWS

ANNAPOLIS, MARYLAND

Pursuant to the provisions of Section 23-11 of Article 33 of the Annotated Code
of Maryland, the State Administrative Board of Election Laws does hereby certify
that at the General Election held in the State of Maryland on November 7, 1972,
an Act known as Chapter 369 of the Acts of 1972 was submitted to the voters of
the State of Maryland under the provisions of Article XIV of the Constitution of
the State of Maryland, said Act being as follows:

AN ACT to propose amendments to Article III of the Constitution of
Maryland, title "Legislative Department," by amending Sections 27 and 28 thereof
to provide that the Senate and the House of Delegates may adopt by rule a
"consent calendar" procedure permitting bills to be read and voted upon as a
single group on both second and third readings, provided that such rule provide the
membership of these bodies with reasonable notice and an opportunity to object;
AND SUBMITTING THIS AMENDMENT TO THE LEGAL AND
QUALIFIED VOTERS OF THE STATE FOR ADOPTION OR REJECTION.

AND IT IS HEREBY CERTIFIED that at said election, 498,131 votes were
cast for the adoption of said Chapter 369 and 280,874 votes were cast against the
adoption of said Chapter 369, the said Chapter 369 of the Acts of 1972 has
therefore been ratified by the duly qualified voters of the State of Maryland.
