COURT, FOR THE NUMBER OF TERMS SPECIFIED IN SUBSECTION

(B).

(B)     SUCH PERSONS WHO HAVE HELD ONE OR MORE OF THE
ELECTED PUBLIC OFFICES OF CHARLES COUNTY ENUMERATED IN
SUBSECTION (A) OF THIS SECTION FOR A COMBINED TOTAL OF
FOUR FULL TERMS SHALL BE ENTITLED TO AN ANNUAL
RETIREMENT SALARY IN AN AMOUNT EQUAL TO THE TOTAL OF
FIVE PERCENT (5%) OF EACH OF THE HIGHEST ANNUAL SALARIES
RECEIVED BY THE PERSON FOR EACH YEAR HE HELD OFFICE;
PROVIDED, HOWEVER, THE MAXIMUM ANNUAL RETIREMENT
SALARY SHALL NOT EXCEED EIGHTY PERCENT (80%) OF THE
HIGHEST ANNUAL SALARY THE PERSON RECEIVED WHILE
HOLDING ONE OF THOSE OFFICES.

(C)   THE ANNUAL RETIREMENT SALARY PROVIDED FOR IN THIS
SECTION SHALL BE PAID TO THE RECIPIENT ON A MONTHLY
BASIS.

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act shall take
effect July 1, 1973.

CHAPTER 116
(House Bill 7)

AN ACT to repeal Section 54B of Article 43 of the Annotated Code of Maryland
(1971 Replacement Volume and 1972 Supplement), title "Health," subtitle
"Miscellaneous Provisions," and to enact new Sections [[226FF-1 through
226FF-6]] 266GG-1 through 266GG-6 of Article 41 of the Code, title
"Governor-Executive and Administrative Departments," subtitle "Department
of Economic and Community Development," to follow immediately after
Section [[226EE-6]] 266FF-6 thereof, to be under the new subheading "Safety
Glazing," revising the laws concerning the requirement for and regulation of
safety glazing and specifying the duties of the Department of Economic and
Community Development concerning these provisions.

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That Section 54B of Article 43 of the Annotated Code of
Maryland (1971 Replacement Volume and 1972 Supplement), title "Health,"
subtitle "Miscellaneous Provisions," be and it is hereby repealed, to read as
follows:

[54B.

(a)  The State Department of Health shall adopt such minimum standards for
glazing as may be necessary to protect the health and safety of the public.

(b)  The Department of Health shall adopt by reference the glazing standards of
the BOCA Basic Building Code, 1965 Edition, 1968 Accumulative Supplement,
after January 1, 1970. It shall be unlawful to install in any building in the State
any glazing material not in conformity with the standards adopted.
