1624                                     LAWS OF MARYLAND                                 Ch. 784

State Department of Assessments and Taxation shall determine and designate from
time to time.

[(f) The supervisor of assessments of Baltimore City shall have an annual salary
classification in accordance with the Maryland Slate employees standard salary
scale 15 as it may be established from time to time.

(g) The County Commissioners of Allegany County may levy and pay such
additional sum in excess of the salary established by subsection (c) hereof to the
supervisor of assessments of said county as in their discretion they shall determine
(not to exceed an aggregate payment of salary to such supervisor of $6,500.00);
provided, however, that the portion of said salary to be paid by the State shall be
limited to the amount prescribed in the schedules heretofore set forth.

(h) Prince George's County. Prince George's County shall levy and pay such
sum as the merit board of Prince George's County shall provide within the merit
systems as to specifications and salaries related thereto for the supervisor of
assessments, but the portion of said salary to be paid by the State shall be limited
to 60% of the amount required to be paid to a supervisor of assessments in Class B
counties, according to the applicable scale of the Maryland State employees
standard salary scale as provided for above in this section.]

237.

[[(a) There shall be the following classes of positions to assist the several
supervisors of assessments in Baltimore City and the counties:]]

[(1) Assessor's aide.

(2)  Assessors, requiring as a minimum qualification at least two years of service
as an assessor's aide.

(3)  Senior assessors, requiring as a minimum qualification at least five years of
service as an assessor.

(4)  Assistant supervisor of assessments, requiring as a minimum qualification at
least five years of service as a senior assessor.

(5)  The State Department of Assessments and Taxation may in its discretion
determine equivalent educational or experience qualifications to stand in lieu of all
or part of the minimum qualifications set forth above in this subsection.]

[(b) The position of assistant supervisor shall not be set up in Class G counties
(following the classification of counties in § 236 of this article).
