SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That Section 3-403.1 (b) of Article 66 1/2 of the Annotated Code
of Maryland (1970 Replacement Volume), title "Vehicle Laws," subtitle
"Certificates of Title and Registration of Vehicles," subheading "Part IV.
Registration of Vehicles," be and it is hereby repealed and re-enacted, with
amendments, to read as follows:

3-403.1

(b) In Baltimore City the board of estimates shall determine from time to time
if an office or department of the municipal government shall act as the agent of
the Department of Motor Vehicles in the registration of the vehicles specified in
subsection (a) hereof, and the board of estimates shall determine which office or
department of the municipal government shall perform this function. [These
decisions for the registration of motor vehicles for any year shall be made not later
than the first day of October next preceding, and the board of estimates promptly
shall notify the Department of Motor Vehicles of the decisions.] SHOULD THE
BOARD OF ESTIMATES DETERMINE THAT A MUNICIPAL AGENCY
SHALL SO ACT AS THE AGENT OF THE MOTOR VEHICLES
ADMINISTRATION FOR A PARTICULAR YEAR THE BOARD SHALL
SO NOTIFY THE ADMINISTRATION NOT LATER THAN OCTOBER 15
OF THE NEXT PRECEDING YEAR. If an office or department of the mayor
and city council of Baltimore is thus to act as the agent of the Department of
Motor Vehicles it shall receive and account for the fees provided in this section as
is required for county treasurers performing this function.

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act shall take
effect July 1, 1973.

CHAPTER 89
(Senate Bill 585)

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 20(1-2) of Article 2B
of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1968 Replacement Volume), title
"Alcoholic Beverages," subtitle "Beer, Wine and Liquor Licenses," to include
sororal organizations among those organizations in Somerset County which may
acquire a Class C beer, wine, and liquor license.

SECTION I. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That Section 20(1-2) of Article 2B of the Annotated Code of
Maryland (1968 Replacement Volume), title "Alcoholic Beverages," subtitle "Beer,
Wine and Liquor Licenses," be and it is hereby repealed and re-enacted, with
amendments, to read as follows:

20.

(1-2) In Somerset County, the annual fee for such a license shall be two hundred
and fifty dollars ($250) and shall be issued to the following organizations:

(1) Any bona fide yacht club or golf and country club operating in the county,
having a bona fide membership of not less than thirty (30) persons and charging
dues of not less than twenty dollars ($20.00) per annum for each adult member and
