[(e) District Court judges shall have authority as provided by law concerning
the admitting of persons to emergency and/or mental health facilities.]
SEC. 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That new subsection (h) be and
it is hereby added to Section 22 of Article 59 of the Annotated Code of Maryland
(1972 Replacement Volume), title "Mental Hygiene," subtitle "Emergency
Admissions," to follow immediately after subsection (g) thereof, and to read as
follows:
(G) DISTRICT COURT JUDGES HAVE THE AUTHORITY PROVIDED
BY LAW CONCERNING THE ADMISSION OF PERSONS TO
EMERGENCY OR MENTAL HEALTH FACILITIES.
SECTION 3. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act shall take
effect July 1, 1973.

(House Bill 1454)
AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 5C of Article 66C of
the Annotated Code of Maryland (1972 Supplement), title "Natural
Resources," subtitle "In General," subheading "Department of Natural
Resources," relating generally to the regulation of off-road vehicles and to the
duty of the Secretary of Natural Resources to identify adequate areas for use by
the general public for operation of motorcycles and snowmobiles.
SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That Section 5C of Article 66C of the Annotated Code of
Maryland (1972 Supplement), title "Natural Resources," subtitle "In General,"
subheading "Department of Natural Resources," be and it is hereby repealed and
re-enacted, with amendments, to read as follows:
5C.
The Secretary of Natural Resources shall promulgate regulations regarding the
operation of off-road vehicles as defined in §578A of Article 27 of this Code on
property owned or under the control of the Department of Natural Resources, and
the Secretary shall, on or before January 1, [1973] [[1974]] 1975, designate and
properly identify adequate areas for use by the general public for operation of
MOTORCYCLES AND snowmobiles on the property heretofore defined.
Violation of such regulations shall include a penalty of a fine of up to two hundred
and fifty dollars ($250.00). However, off-road vehicles shall not be permitted where
their operation will damage the wildland character of the property nor where the
noise from their operation will be audible to OR INTERFERE WITH THE USE
OF picnic or camping areas open to public use.
SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act shall take
effect July 1, 1973.
