shall otherwise be governed by the provisions of [Article 33A of the Annotated]
TITLE 12 OF ARTICLE 21 OF THIS Code [of Maryland (1967 Replacement
Volume, as amended)].
Article 66C.
186.
The Director with the approval of the Commission may acquire title to or
control of lands or waters within this State suitable for protection and propagation
of game and fish or for hunting purposes to be used as hereinafter provided by-
purchase, lease, gift, or condemnation in accordance with the provisions of [Article
33A of the Annotated) TITLE 12 OF ARTICLE 21 OF THIS Code [of
Maryland] to be known as State game lands, provided, however, that on and after
June 1, 1947, no individual tract of land or water in excess of one hundred acres
[shall] MAY be acquired in Garrett County, except with the approval of the
County Commissioners of [said] THAT county. The Director may purchase or
erect [such] THE buildings [as may be] deemed necessary properly to maintain
and protect [such] THE lands or for propagation of game and fish and may also
purchase or lease lands from which the ownership of minerals, oil, or gas and the
right to mine and drill for the same have been excepted.

The Department of [Forests and Parks] NATURAL RESOURCES [shall
have the right and power to [MAY condemn lands, earth, gravel, stone, timber or
materials, or any improvements in the name of the State, under [Article 33A, title
"Eminent Domain," of the] TITLE 12 OF ARTICLE 21 OF THIS Code [of
Public General Laws of Maryland] when [such) THAT action is necessary for
carrying out the purpose of any legislative act, or for advancing the aims of
forestry, parks or recreation, and the work of the Department of [Forests and
Parks) NATURAL RESOURCES, and [they] IT may pay all costs and expenses
thus incurred out of any surplus moneys standing to the credit of the Forest
Reserve or Park Reserve funds, not otherwise appropriated; nothing herein
contained shall apply to the City of Baltimore; and in connection with the project
for which the lands mentioned in § 370 of this subtitle are to be acquired, [such]
THE power of condemnation [shall] MAY not be exercised with respect to any
lands located more than one-half mile from the medial line of the [said] Patapsco
River, or either of its branches.

Subject to the limitations and provisions contained in this subheading, a gas
storage company may acquire by eminent domain the right to utilize for
underground storage of gas, geological strata lying not less than 800 feet below the
surface of a maximum of 12,000 acres of land in Prince George's County;
provided, that such 12,000 acres shall be within the area located (a) west of the
highway designated as U.S 301 (where presently located); (b) north of the Charles
County boundary line; (c) east of 76 degrees 56 minutes 30 seconds west longitude;
and (d) south of 38 degrees 45 minutes 45 seconds north latitude. The use of
eminent domain in any case under this section shall be in the manner provided in
[Article 33A of the Public General Laws of Maryland] TITLE 12 OF ARTICLE
21 OF THIS CODE, the provisions of which article are hereby made applicable in
any such case.
