992                              Laws of Maryland                      [Ch. 348

"Forests and Parks," subheading "In General," be and they are
repealed and re-enacted, with amendments, all to read as follows:

3.

The following defined words or terms, wherever they appear
under the title "Natural Resources" except under subheadings
"Maryland Geological Survey" and "Natural Resources Institute"
of the subtitle "In General" or under the subtitles "Agriculture"
"Archeological Resources" "Livestock" "Maryland Wholesome Meat
Act" "Maryland Commercial Fertilizer Law of 1963," and "Mining"
shall be construed to mean the words or terms of the definitions
thereof unless the context requires another meaning:

"Board of Natural Resources" means "Department of Natural
Resources"

"Commission" means "Secretary of Natural Resources"

"Commission of Chesapeake Bay Affairs" or "Chesapeake Bay
Affairs Commission" means "Secretary of Natural Resources"

"Commission of Fish and Wildlife" or "Fish and Wildlife Com-
mission" means "Secretary of Natural Resources"

"Commission of Forests and Parks" or "Forests and Parks Com-
mission" means "Secretary of Natural Resources"

"Commission of Game and Inland Fish" or "Game and Inland Fish
Commission" means "Secretary of Natural Resources"

"Commission of Tidewater Fisheries" or "Tidewater Fisheries
Commission" means "Secretary of Natural Resources"

"Commission of Water Resources" or "Water Resources Commis-
sion" means "Secretary of Natural Resources"

"Commission or Director" means "Secretary of Natural Resources"

"Department" means "Department of Natural Resources"

"Department of Chesapeake Bay Affairs" means "Department of
Natural Resources"

"Department of Forests and Parks" means "Department of Nat-
ural Resources"

"Department of Game and Inland Fish" means "Department of
Natural Resources"

"Department of Tidewater Fisheries" means "Department of Nat-
ural Resources"

"Department of Water Resources" means "Department of Natural
Resources"

"Director" means "Secretary of Natural Resources"

"Director of Fish and Wildlife Administration" means "Secretary
of Natural Resources"

"Director of Game and Inland Fish Commission" means "Secretary
of Natural Resources"

"Fish and Wildlife Administration" means "Department of Nat-
ural Resources"

"Secretary" means "Secretary of Natural Resources"

(b) In order to assure that these responsibilities will be carried
out in a manner which will best serve the economic growth and
social needs of the State, [there is hereby created a Department of
Chesapeake Bay Affairs, which shall be part of] they are assigned
to
the Department of Natural Resources. The Department [of
Chesapeake Bay Affairs] shall assume all functions and responsi-
bilities previously exercised by the Commission and Department
