The deputy State's Attorney shall devote full time to the duties of
the office and shall not engage in the private practice of law at any
time in any jurisdiction, during the tenure of office.
The County Commissioners shall provide the secretarial help re-
quired to handle the business of the State's Attorney's office.
Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
July 1, 1972.
SEC. 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, THAT THIS ACT
IS HEREBY DECLARED TO BE AN EMERGENCY MEASURE
AND NECESSARY FOR THE IMMEDIATE PRESERVATION
OF THE PUBLIC HEALTH AND SAFETY AND HAVING
BEEN PASSED BY A YEA AND NAY VOTE SUPPORTED BY
THREE-FIFTHS OF ALL THE MEMBERS ELECTED TO EACH
OF THE TWO HOUSES OF THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY, THE
SAME SHALL TAKE EFFECT FROM THE DATE OF ITS
PASSAGE.

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 36 (f)
of Article 77 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1971 Cumulative
Supplement), title "Public Education," sub-title "County Boards
of Education," to increase the allowance for travel and other ex-
penses for members of the Board of Education of Montgomery
County from $2,400 annually to $4,800 annually or such larger
sums as may be provided by the County Council for Montgomery
County.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 36(f) of Article 77 of the Annotated Code of Maryland
(1971 Cumulative Supplement), title "Public Education," subtitle
"County Boards of Education," be and it is hereby repealed and re-
enacted, with amendments, to read as follows:
36. Board for Montgomery County.
(f) Compensation.—No member of said Board of Education shall
receive compensation for his services, but shall receive an allow-
ance of [$2,400] $4,800 annually or such larger sum for travel and
other expenses as may be provided by the County Council of Mont-
gomery County.
Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
July 1, 1972.
