CHAPTER 330
(House Bill 1227)
AN ACT to add new Section 490A to Article 48A of the Annotated
Code of Maryland (1972 Replacement Volume), title "Insurance
Code," subtitle "31. Miscellaneous," to follow immediately after
Section 490 thereof, to provide that an insured under a health
and/or sickness, and/or accident, and/or disability group, or in-
dividual insurance policy shall be entitled to reimbursement for
services performed by a psychologist, and generally relating
thereto.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That new Section 490A be and it is hereby added to Article 48A of the
Annotated Code of Maryland (1972 Replacement Volume), title "In-
surance Code," subtitle "31. Miscellaneous," to follow immediately
after Section 490 thereof, and to read as follows:
490A.
Notwithstanding any provision of a group or individual policy, or
contract, or any certificate issued thereunder, of health and/or sick-
ness, and/or accident, and/or disability insurance, delivered within
the State, or issued to a group which is incorporated or has a main
office located in the State, or covering, persons who reside or work
within the State, whenever such policy, contract or certificate pro-
vides for reimbursement for any service which is within the lawful
scope of practice of a duly certified psychologist, the insured, or any
other person covered by the policy, contract or certificate, shall be
entitled to reimbursement for such service, whether the services is
performed by a doctor of medicine or a duly certified psychologist.
The provisions of this section shall apply to all such policies, contracts
or certificates issued, renewed, modified, altered, amended or re-issued
on or after July 1, 1972.
Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
July 1, 1972.

CHAPTER 331
(House Bill 1242)
AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 40(k) of
Article 10 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1971 Supplement),
title "Attorneys at Law and Attorneys in Fact," subtitle "State's
Attorney," to revise the procedure for setting the salary of the
Deputy State's Attorney, to authorize appointment of full-time/or
part-time assistant State's Attorneys and other staff personnel,
providing for their compensation, powers and duties, and generally
relating to certain employees of the State's Attorney's office in
Frederick County.
