peal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 27 of Article 32 of the
said Code (1971 Replacement Volume), title "Dentistry," subtitle
"Dental Hygienists," to amend the laws concerning dentistry in
order to increase fees for examination and registration of dental
applicants and the examination of dental hygienist applicants.
Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 8 of Article 32 of the Annotated Code of Maryland
(1971 Replacement Volume), title "Dentistry," subtitle "In General;"
and Section 27 of Article 32 of the said Code (1971 Replacement
Volume,) title "Dentistry," subtitle "Dental Hygienists," be, and they
are hereby, repealed and re-enacted, with amendments, to read as
follows:

A fee of [thirty ($30.00)] fifty ($50.00) dollars shall be paid
to the secretary of the Board at the time of application by each
applicant for examination, or registration, or both, as often as he or
she shall apply for same; provided that payment of said fee of
[thirty ($30.00)] fifty ($50,00) ($50.00) dollars by an applicant who
may apply for examination upon certain subjects as provided in Sec-
tion 5 of this article shall entitle him or her to take the examination
upon the remainder of the prescribed subjects, no part of said fee
to be refunded under any circumstances.
27.
Any person desiring to practice dental hygiene in this State shall
procure from the State Board of Dental Examiners of the State of
Maryland, a certificate that such a person is entitled to practice
dental hygiene in the State of Maryland. In order to procure such
certificate, the applicant shall submit to the Board his diploma from
an institution for the education of dental hygienists, which institu-
tion is approved by the Board, and such other credentials as are
hereinafter required, together with an application or forms which
shall be prescribed and furnished by the Board. Each such appli-
cant shall pay to the board [fifteen ($15.00)] twenty-five ($25.00)
dollars at the time of making such application for examination
as often as he shall make application therefor.
Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
July 1, 1972.
