SEC. 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, THAT THIS
ACT IS HEREBY DECLARED TO BE AN EMERGENCY
MEASURE AND NECESSARY FOR THE IMMEDIATE PRES-
ERVATION OF THE PUBLIC HEALTH AND SAFETY AND
HAVING BEEN PASSED BY A YEA AND NAY VOTE SUP-
PORTED BY THREE-FIFTHS OF ALL THE MEMBERS
ELECTED TO EACH OF THE TWO HOUSES OF THE GEN-
ERAL ASSEMBLY, THE SAME SHALL TAKE EFFECT FROM
THE DATE OF ITS PASSAGE.

CHAPTER 77
(Senate Bill 25)

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 224 (u) of
Article 56 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1968 Replacement
Volume and 1971 Supplement), title "Licenses," subtitle "Real Es-
tate Brokers," to authorize the Real Estate Commission to suspend
or revoke a license for a violation of a regulation adopted by the
Commission.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 224(u) of Article 56 of the Annotated Code of Maryland
(1968 Replacement Volume and 1971 Supplement), title "Licenses,"
subtitle "Real Estate Brokers," be and it is hereby repealed and re-
enacted, with amendments, to read as follows:

224.

(u) Violating any provision of a regulation or of the Code of
Ethics theretofore adopted by the Commission.

Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
July 1, 1972.

Approved April 26, 1972.

CHAPTER 78
(Senate Bill 56)

AN ACT to add a new Section 46 to Article 23A of the Annotated
Code of Maryland (1966 Replacement Volume), title
"Corporations—Municipal," subtitle "Home Rule," to follow im-
mediately after Section 45 thereof, and to be under the new
subheading "Property Qualifications," providing that municipal
corporations subject to Article HE of the Constitution shall not
impose or continue any requirement, distinction, or provision in
connection with municipal elections, the right to vote therein, or
the right to hold municipal office which require any of certain
