1 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland), title "Allegany
County", subtitle "Allegany County Water Commission", to follow
immediately after Section 631A (c) thereof, as enacted by Chapter
507 of the Acts of 1971, and to read as follows:

631A.

(d) The County Commissioners shall make the initial appoint-
ments of members to the Commission on or before April 15, 1972.

Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act is hereby de-
clared to be an emergency measure and necessary for the immediate
preservation of the public health and safety and having been passed
by a yea and nay vote supported by three-fifths of all the members
elected to each of the two Houses of the General Assembly, the
same shall take effect from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 9
(Senate Bill 286)

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Sections 22-2,
22-4, 22-5, 22-7, 22-8 and 22-9 of Article 33 of the Annotated
Code of Maryland (1971 Replacement Volume and 1971 Supple-
ment) , title "Election Code," subtitle "House of Representatives,"
to correct technical defects in the date of reference relating to
election districts, wards, and precincts and the geographical boun-
daries thereof within the Congressional Districts of this State;
to correct technical defects in the language describing certain
regions of Baltimore County within the Second, Third and Sixth
Congressional Districts of this State; to correct technical defects
relating to Ward 7 in Baltimore City which is the Third Con-
gressional District of this State; and relating generally to cor-
recting technical defects in the Congressional Districting laws of
this State.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Sections 22-2, 22-4, 22-5, 22-7, 22-8 and 22-9 of Article 33 of
the Annotated Code of Maryland (1971 Replacement Volume and
1971 Supplement), title "Election Code," subtitle "House of Repre-
sentatives," be and they are hereby repealed and re-enacted, with
amendments, to read as follows:

22-2.

The State of Maryland is divided into eight districts for the election
of eight Representatives to the House of Representatives of the
Congress of the United States. The districts are numbered respec-
tively from one to eight, and each is entitled to elect one Representa-
tive. All references in this subtitle to election districts, wards, and
precincts are to the geographical boundaries thereof as they existed
on [March 8, 1971] September 1,1971.
