(b)    Small appliance branch circuits, dwelling occupancies. For
the small appliance load in kitchen, pantry, family room, dining
room, and breakfast room of dwelling occupancies, two or more 20-
ampere appliance branch circuits in addition to the branch circuits
specified in Section 220-3(a) shall be provided for all receptacle
outlets in these rooms, and such circuits shall have no other outlets.

Receptacle outlets supplied by at least two appliance receptacle
branch circuits shall be installed in the kitchen. Each outlet shall
not necessarily be supplied by both appliance circuits.

At least one 20-ampere branch circuit shall be provided for
laundry receptacles required in Section 210-22(b).

Receptacle outlets installed solely for the support of and the
power supply for electric clocks may be installed on lighting branch
circuits.

Not more than eight receptacles shall be connected to a twenty
ampere appliance branch circuit.

A three-wire 115/230 volt branch circuit is the equivalent of
two 115 volt receptacle branch circuits.

(c)    Other circuits. For specific loads not otherwise provided
for in Section 220-3 (a or b), branch circuits shall be as required by
other Sections of the Code.

83-57. Section 220-4 (e) amended.

Subsection (e) of Section 220-4 of the 1968 National Electrical
Code adopted by this Chapter is hereby amended to read as follows:

(e) Fixed electrical space heating. The computed load of a
feeder supplying fixed electrical space heating equipment shall be the
total connected load on all branch circuits.

For heating equipment such as oil or gas burners, stokers, fans,
blowers, and pumps, an individual branch circuit shall be provided
with a switch on the line side of all equipment and devices at a location
approved by the department.

83-58. Section 230-41 amended.

Section 230-41 of the 1968 National Electrical Code adopted by
this Chapter is hereby amended to read as follows;

Exception No. 1. For installations to supply only limited loads
of a single branch circuit, such as small polyphase power, controlled
water heaters and the like, they shall not be smaller than the con-
ductors of the branch circuit and in no case smaller than No. 12.
