INSPECTOR. The term "inspector" shall mean an authorized
agent of the Department of Inspection and Licenses.
LICENSEE. The term "licensee" shall mean any person, firm,
company, corporation or partnership to whom a license has been
issued hereunder.
MASTER ELECTRICIAN. A person licensed by Montgomery
County as qualified to install, repair, maintain, erect and design
electrical wiring equipment, apparatus and systems, within the pur-
view of the electrical code, including, but not limited to electrical
raceways, conductors, fixtures, signs, motors, switchgears and dis-
tribution systems, fixed electric heating systems or any other fixed
electrical equipment or apparatus which conducts or consumes elec-
tricity.
MASTER ELECTRICIAN LIMITED. A person licensed by
Montgomery County as qualified to install, repair and maintain a
particular appliance, apparatus, device, or fixture within the purview
of the Montgomery County Electrical Code and limited to a branch
circuit or feeder for elevators; gasoline pumps; automatic heating
furnaces whose principal operation is derived from fuel oil, gas,
steam or coal; lighting fixtures; refrigeration and air conditioning
equipment, illuminating signs and similar specialties; or limited to
equipment for a plant, factory, apartment complex or any other
public occupance employing maintenance forces; fire alarm systems
and electronic equipment employing the use of electrical current or
connection.
83-9. Business Licenses and Permits Required.
Supervision of electrical installations, etc., responsibility of
master electricians and master electricians limited.
(a) It shall be unlawful for any person, firm, company, corpora-
tion or partnership engaged in business as an electrical contractor
to install, repair or maintain any electrical circuit, electrical equip-
ment or electrical apparatus unless such person, firm, company,
corporation or partnership shall have first been granted by Mont-
gomery County, Maryland, a business license, if required by this
Chapter, entitling the licensee to perform such work, and further,
that no such repairs or installations shall be made by any licensee
until a permit has been issued by Montgomery County, Maryland, for
such work.
(b) No master electrician or master electrician limited shall
engage in business as an "electrical contractor" without having first
obtained a business license therefor.
(c) All installations, repairs, maintenance or other work done
under a business license issued pursuant to this Chapter shall be by, or
