SEC. 2. Article II, Chapter 83, title "Electricity," of the Mont-
gomery County Code 1965, as amended, is hereby repealed and re-
enacted, with amendments, to read as follows:
ARTICLE II. Electrical Contractor's License
Division 1. Generally
83-8. Definitions.
As used in this Article, the following words and phrases shall
have the meanings respectively ascribed to them by this section:
BOARD. The term "board" shall mean the Board of Electrical
Examiners created by this Article.
BUSINESS LICENSE. The license granted by Montgomery
County which authorizes the licensee to engage in business as an
Electrical Contractor in Montgomery County.
DIRECTOR. The term "director" shall mean the Director of
the Department of Inspection and Licenses.
ELECTRICAL CONTRACTOR. A person, firm, company, cor-
poration or partnership principally engaged in the business of install-
ing, repairing, maintaining, erecting and designing electrical wiring,
equipment, apparatus and systems designed for using or conducting
electrical current and coming within the purview of the Electrical
Code to whom a valid business license has been issued.
ELECTRICAL EQUIPMENT. The term "electrical equip-
ment" shall include electrical conductors, raceways, wiring fittings,
devices, appliances, fixtures, apparatus, and any other equipment
coming within the purview of the Montgomery County and National
Electrical Codes.
ELECTRICAL CODE. The term "Electrical Code" shall in-
clude the Montgomery County Electrical Code and the National
Electrical Code as adopted and amended by this Chapter.
ENGAGED IN BUSINESS. A person, firm, company, corpora-
tion or partnership holding itself out to the public to furnish, install,
repair or maintain under verbal or written contract, electrical equip-
ment. One so engaged shall be considered an electrical contractor
requiring a business license under this Article. Such a contractor, if
licensed as a master electrician or master electrician limited, may
perform such work himself or it may be performed by one or more of
his employees under such supervision as may be required by the
electrical code.
INSTALL, REPAIR OR MAINTAIN. The term "install, repair
or maintain" shall include all installations, repairs or maintenance of
any or all electrical equipment or circuits, or any parts thereof,
including new work, alterations, renewals or extensions coming
within the purview of this Chapter and the electrical code.
