16.201—Policy

It is the intention of the County Council of Howard County in the
enactment of this subtitle to establish a legislative agency of the County
Council which shall be the zoning authority of Howard County. The zoning
authority so created shall be known as the Howard County Zoning Board
and shall consist of the members of the County Council. The Chairman of
the County Council [shall] may be the Chairman of the Zoning Board;
the Vice-Chairman of the County Council [shall] may be the Vice-Chair-
man of the Zoning Board. The County Council may at its own discretion
designate other members of the County Council to be the Chairman of the
zoning Board; and Vice-chairman of the Zoning Board. This shall be ac-
complished annually prior to the first meeting in January. The duly ap-
pointed Secretary of the County Council shall be the Secretary of the
Zoning Board.

Section 2. And be it further enacted by the County Council of Howard
County, Maryland, that this Act shall take effect sixty (60) days after its
enactment.
