ing such meters and other expenses incurred in the operation there-
of, by repealing and re-enacting, with amendments, Sections 17-39
and 17-48 of the Baltimore County Code, 1968, title "Motor Vehi-
cles and Traffic," Article IV. Parking Meters.
Section 1. Be it enacted by the County Council of Baltimore
County, Maryland, that Section 17-39 of the Baltimore County Code,
1968 (1970 Cumulative Supplement) title "Motor Vehicles and Traf-
fic," Article IV. Parking Meters, be and it is hereby repealed and re-
enacted with amendments, to read as follows:
Section 17-39. Periods and rates.
The department of traffic engineering, with the approval of the
county administrative office, is hereby authorized, by regulation, to
establish, and from time to time change, the lawful parking time peri-
od, hours and days of operation and rate for any parking meter zone;
provided, that the legend attached to each parking meter is altered to
reflect any such change; and provided further, that the rate for
parking shall not be more than ten [five] cents per one-half hour
nor less than five cents per one hour, and that the period of lawful
parking in any parking meter zone will not exceed two consecutive
hours.
Section 2. Be it further enacted, that Section 17-48 of the Balti-
more County Code, 1968, title "Motor Vehicles and Traffic," Article
IV. Parking Meters, be and it is hereby repealed and re-enacted with
amendments, to read as follows:
Section 17-48 Assignment of on-street parking meter funds-to Bal-
timore County Revenue Authority.
Baltimore County, Maryland, acting under the provisions of sec-
tion 29-14 of this Code, hereby assigns and pledges itself to assign
hereafter to the Baltimore County Revenue Authority, all of the funds
received by it from parking meters installed on the streets and high-
ways of the county, including all parking meter revenue now held by
the county for the account of the Baltimore County Revenue Author-
ity, excepting however, a sum not to exceed [forty-five thousand]
fifty-five thousand dollars per year to be retained for the payment of
the costs referred to in section 17-47 of this Code, subject to increase
from time to time of the amounts to be reserved for cost of purchas-
ing on-street parking meters or retained for the payment of the other
costs and expenses referred to in section 17-47 of this Code, with the
written consent of the holders of seventy-five per cent of the bonds
or mortgages outstanding, which have been issued by the authority
for financing off-street parking facilities.
Section 3. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect forty-five days after its enactment.
