2580                            County Local Laws

Arundel County, Maryland, has adopted Subtitle 3, "Zoning Regula-
tions", of Title 13, "Planning and Zoning", of the Anne Arundel
County Code (1967 Edition and Supplements); and

Whereas, At the time of adoption of said bills, it had been
intended that said Subtitle should become effective on a County-wide
basis, only after the entire Subtitle and all Comprehensive Zoning
Maps shall have been adopted and the existing zoning laws and maps
repealed; and

Whereas, Certain technical problems relating to the implementa-
tion of said Subtitle have made it desirable for the new zoning
regulations and maps to become effective on a district-by-district
basis, as said comprehensive zoning maps are adopted in each assess-
ment district; now, therefore,

Section 1. Be it enacted by the County Council of Anne Arundel
County, Maryland,
That Sections 13-303.1(b)(4), 13-306.1(b)(4),
13-306.2(4) and 13-308(b)(8) of the Anne Arundel County Code
(1967 Edition and Supplements), Title 13, "Planning and Zoning",
Subtitle 3, "Zoning Regulations", Article III, "Residential Districts",
Heading, "RA—Agricultural Residential Districts", "R5—Residential
Districts" and "Multi-Family Districts", respectively, be and they
are hereby repealed.

Section 2. And be it further enacted, That Sections 13-300.18,
13-303.1 (b), (1) (ii) and (2), 13-305.1 (1), 13-306.1 (b) (1),
13-308.1, 13-311.1 (a) (27), 13-314.1 (a) (1) (v) and (viii), 13-323.3
(b) (originally enacted by Bill No. 13-71 as Section 13-322.2), 13-324.3
(originally enacted by Bill No. 13-71 as Section 13-323.3), 13-327.6
(10) (a) and (c) (originally enacted by Bill No. 44-70 as Sections
13-320.6 (10) (a) and (c)) and 13-343.28 (3) (originally enacted by
Bill No. 16-71 as Section 13-352.29 (3)) of said Code, Title and
Subtitle, Article I, "General Provisions and Definitions", Article III,
"Residential Districts", Heading, "RA—Agricultural Residential Dis-
tricts", "R2—Residential Districts", "R5—Residential Districts",
"Multi-Family Districts", Sub-heading, "R-15 Low Density Multi-
Family Districts", Article IV, "Commercial Districts", Heading,
"C1—Local Retail Districts" and "C4—Highway Commerical Dis-
tricts", Article VI, "Special Districts", Heading, "Maritime Group
Districts", Sub-heading, "MB—Maritime Group B Districts" and
"MC—Maritime Group C Districts", Article VIII, "Off-Street Park-
ing", Article XI, "Special Exceptions", Heading, "Specific Stand-
ards", Sub-heading, "Planned Unit Developments" and "Other Special
Exceptions", respectively, as enacted by Bills Nos. 8-71, 18-70, 39-70,
13-71, 44-70, 93-70 and 16-71, as added or amended, be and they are
hereby repealed and re-enacted, with amendments, to read as follows:

Section 13-300.18—Public Services.

Structures for public services (such as post offices, police and
fire stations, etc.) shall be permitted in [multi-family] residential,
commercial and industrial districts, provided the location thereof is
essential to service the area wherein located.
