Section 2. And be it further enacted, That this Ordinance shall
take effect forty-five (45) days from the date it becomes law, provided
that the provisions thereof shall be applied retroactively to the weekly
and bi-weekly pay periods next succeeding July 1, 1971.

AN ORDINANCE to add new Section 1-210 (e) to the Anne Arundel
County Code (1967 Edition and Supplements), Title 1, "Admin-
istration", Subtitle 2, "Personnel", Article II, "Classified Service",
to follow immediately after Section 1-210 (d) thereof, providing
leave to permanent employees in the event of death of certain
members of the family.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the County Council of Anne
Arundel County, Maryland, That Section 1-210 (e) be, and it is
hereby added to the Anne Arundel County Code (1967 Edition and
Supplements), Title 1, "Administration", Subtitle 2, "Personnel",
Article II, "Classified Service", to follow immediately after Section
1-210 (d) thereof, to read as follows:

Section 1-210 (e).

In the event of death of the spouse, child, brother, sister, parents
or parents-in-law of a permanent employee, the appointing authority
may grant such employee not more than three (3) workdays leave
with pay.

Section 2. And be it further enacted, That this Ordinance
shall take effect forty-five (45) days from the date it becomes law.
