erty, being bounded on the Northwest by the existing corporate limits
of the City of Salisbury, and providing for the conditions and circum-
stances applicable to the proposed change in boundaries of The City
of Salisbury.

WHEREAS, The City of Salisbury has received consents to annexa-
tion, signed by at least 25% of the persons who reside in the area to be an-
nexed and who are registered voters and by the owners of at least 25%
of the assessed valuation of the real property located in the area sought
to be annexed, being contiguous to and binding upon the Easterly cor-
porate limits of The City of Salisbury and called "East Main Street An-
nexation", for identification, and

WHEREAS, The City of Salisbury has caused to be made a verification
of the signatures on said consent to annexation and have verified that the
persons signing the petition represent at least 25% of the persons who
reside in the area to be annexed and who are registered to vote in the
county elections for Wicomico County, in which said area is located and
that the persons signing the consent to annexation are the owners of at
least 25% of the assessed valuation of the real property located in the area
sought to be annexed, all as of March 23, 1970, as will more particularly
appear by the certification of Philip W. Cooper, Director of Public Works
for The City of Salisbury, attached hereto; and

WHEREAS, it appears that the consents meet all the requirements of
law.

Section 1. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE
COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SALISBURY, That it is hereby proposed
and recommended, that the boundaries of The City of Salisbury be changed
so as to annex to and include within said city all that certain area of land,
together with the persons residing therein and their property, contiguous
to and binding upon the Easterly corporate limits of The City of Salisbury
and being more particularly described as follows: ALL that piece or per-
cel of land situated adjacent to and binding upon the easterly corporate
limits of The City of Salisbury, Wicomico County and State of Maryland,
being bounded and abutted as follows: That is to say, Beginning at a point
being the vertex of two corporate lines at the intersection of East Main
Street and East Church Street, thence South fifteen degrees fifty-nine
minutes twenty-three seconds East, one hundred and eighty-seven decimal
six five (187.65) feet to an iron pipe located at the common property
line of Banks Market, James A. Swaney and A. B. Brittingham; thence
South twenty-two degrees fifty minutes forty-one seconds West, one hun-
dred and nine decimal five, seven (109.57) feet to a cement post located
at the common property line of A. B. Brittingham, Joseph V. Austin and
Hanna and Kremer Insurance Company; thence North thirty-four degrees
forty-nine minutes zero seconds West, one hundred and fifty-five decimal
zero, nine (155.09) feet to a point on the corporate line of the City of Salis-
bury; thence by and with said corporate line North twenty-seven degrees
sixteen minutes four seconds East, one hundred and seventy-three decimal
three, zero (173.30) feet more or less to the point of beginning. All
bearings are referred to true Meridian; said area being also described on
a plat entitled "East Main Street Annexation", being drawing No.
4-JJ-70-9, dated February 27, 1970, generally subject to all of the pro-
visions of the Charter of The City of Salisbury.

Section 2. AND BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED BY THE CITY OF
SALISBURY, That the annexation of the said area be made subject to
the following terms and conditions:
