SAVING and EXCEPTING THEREFROM AND THEREOUT the land
located in and constituting the present boundary lines of the Town of
Perryville, viz.: BEGINNING at a point in the center of the track of the
Philadelphia, Wilmington and Baltimore Railroad Company, at the east end
of the abutment of the bridge of said Company that crosses the Susque-
hanna River, and on the East side of said River, and running in an East-
erly direction in the center of the Northbound track of said Company to a
point under the West side of the bridge of John Stump; thence in a
northwesterly direction by a straight line to a large flat stone in or on the
edge of a small run on the land of the Misses Chamberlain, 157 feet in an
Easterly direction from a very large poplar tree that stands on the line
between the lands of the said Misses Chamberlain and Doctor Virdin;
thence in a westerly direction, with and bounding on said run and on the
south side thereof until it empties into the Susquehanna River, 20 feet
north of the ice houses and wharf of Cochran and Company; thence
with and bounding on the Susquehanna River to the place of beginning.

Section 2. AND BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the persons
and property included within the aforementioned boundaries and taxable
limits of the area hereby annexed to the Town of Perryville shall be sub-
ject to all the provisions of the charter, laws and ordinances heretofore
enacted or those subsequently enacted by the Town of Perryville and in
addition all of the Public Local Laws or Public General Laws heretofore or
subsequently passed by the Maryland Legislature on behalf of the Town of
Perryville.

Section 3. AND BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Commis-
sioners of Perryville will hold a public hearing in regard to the enactment
of this Resolution on January 3, 1962, at 8:00 P.M. in the auditorium of
the Perryville High School, Perryville, Maryland.

Section 4. AND BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the date of
adoption of this Resolution is November 21, 1961 and the amendment to the
charter of the Town of Perryville by the Commissioners of Perryville
hereby proposed by this enactment shall become effective on February
19, 1962, unless a proper petition for a referendum hereon shall be filed
as permitted by law, provided a complete and exact copy of this Resolution
shall be posted in the Town Hall of Perryville until January 3, 1962, and
PROVIDED, FURTHER, that a copy of the title of this Resolution shall
be published in the "Cecil Whig", a newspaper of general circulation in
the Town of Perryville, once in each of the weeks of November 23, Novem-
ber 30, December 7 and December 14, 1961.

Section 5. AND BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the President
of the Commissioners of Perryville be and he is hereby specifically enjoined
and instructed to carry out the provisions of Section 4 hereof, and, as evi-
dence of said compliance, the President of the Commissioners of Perryville
shall cause to be affixed to the minutes of this meeting appropriate
certificates of publication of the newspaper in which the title of this
