2296                                Municipal Charters

Resolution shall have been published and shall declare the charter amend-
ment hereby enacted to be effective by affixing his signature hereto in the
space provided on the effective date hereof.

Section 6. AND BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that as soon as
the charter amendment hereby enacted shall become effective, either as
herein provided or following a referendum, the President of the Commis-
sioners of Perryville shall send separately, by Registered Mail, to the Secre-
tary of the State of Maryland, and to the Department of Legislative Refer-
ence the following information concerning the charter amendments: (1)
The complete text of Section 278A of the Code of Public Local Laws of Cecil
County (1953 Edition) as hereby enacted; (2) The date of the referendum
election, if any, held with respect thereto; (3) The number of votes
cast for and against the question containing the charter amendment,
whether by the Commissioners of the Town of Perryville or in a referen-
dum; (4) The effective date of the charter amendment; and (5) A com-
plete description of the original boundaries of the municipality and a com-
plete description of the new boundaries of the area hereby annexed.

The charter amendment enacted by the aforegoing resolution became
effective this 19th day of February, 1962.

Resolution of the Commissioners of Perryville, Town of Perry-
ville, adopted pursuant to the authority of Article XI E of the Consti-
tution of Maryland, and Section 13 of Article 23A of the Annotated
Code of Maryland, 1957 (1966 Replacement Volume, 1970 Cumulative
Supplement), title "Corporations—Municipal," to repeal and re-enact
with amendments Section 291, and Subsection I of Section 292, both
sections being part of the Code of Public Local Laws of Cecil County,
1961 as amended, said Code being Article 8 of the Code of Public
Local Laws of Maryland and constituting an amendment to the mu-
nicipal charter of the body politic and corporate known as the Com-
missioners of Perryville, Town of Perryville, said amendments to
change the length of the term of office of the Commissioners from
one year in duration to two years in duration and to provide for
the staggered election of the Commissioners, three of said Commis-
sioner offices to be filled by election each year.

Section 1. Be it resolved by the Commissioners of Perryville, Town
of Perryville, that Section 291 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Cecil
County, 1961, as amended, said Code being Article 8 of the Public Local
Laws of Maryland, and said section being a part of the Charter of the Town
of Perryville, be, and the same is hereby repealed and re-enacted with
amendments to read as follows:

291. [All powers of the Town shall be vested in a Board of Commis-
sioners consisting of six Commissioners who shall be elected from a total
of three districts as hereinafter provided and who shall hold office for a
term of one year or until the succeeding Board of Commissioners takes
office. The regular term of Commissioners shall expire on the second Mon-
